SS Monte Carlo

The SS Monte Carlo was a gambling and prostitution ship operating in 1936 off the coast of Coronado, California. It was anchored 3 miles off Coronado Beach, where in international waters it was outside the boundary of stat and federal laws. During a New Year’s day storm in 1937 the anchor lost its hold and the ship wrecked onto the beach near the Coronado Shores condos. Because of the especially low tide the phantom ship has once again seen the light of day.
