Let’s be honest, we take more pictures these days than we ever took in the past. We take so many photos of ourselves that we forget how important it is to gather our families for photos that celebrate special occasions where someone else (that would be me) does the work of organizing and picture taking.

I never tire of family photo sessions in Balboa Park. The green space, architecture, and landmarks offer some amazing settings and backgrounds.
I love finding a new spot or re-inventing compositions in an old favorite setting. When I recently met with Tony, Liz and the kids shortly before the holidays, even though the park was buzzing with activity, we managed to find some great little areas were we created their family photos. They are a wonderful family and we had lots of fun!
I recently photographed Staci, her three sons, Kenneth, Kody and Kasey and her brother Wade and his husband, Matthew, on an early Saturday morning in Balboa Park. We had a great session on a clear and beautiful day.
My mom has been visiting and she loves to cook. Besides her famous gumbo and a version of New Orleans’ own crawfish Monica, she leaves us with a fully stocked freezer. She makes it all look so easy!.
