The Cabin

This was a great after-Thanksgiving trip with a wonderful group of friends and family, deep in the heart of Ramona.

Still Life Vase #1

Had a little down time today, so I thought I would photograph one of my favorite little vases.

Here’s the result:

A New Look for a Not so Old Studio: It’s Skov-spacious!

Thanks to a good friend, Jim Skovmand, I have a new look to my not so old studio. A meticulous and thoughtful work space designer and consultant, Jim, installed the background paper system. It enabled me to un-clutter this small yet light friendly space.

Thanks to my models, Mimi and a very large cat, Quinn, we christened the studio…

I’m proud to call it home.

Old Friends, Then and Now

This is my dear friend, Tony. My dad really loved Tony, and Tony’s father, Mr. Pete, and the Pizzo family. We often visited Tony and his family.

And as so often happens lives drift apart. After the death of my father, I let some old friendships lapse, for which I am truly sorry.

After Katrina so ravaged my hometown, I made an effort to reconnect with some old friends. The greatest gift that has come from that has been visiting, during my trips home, with Tony and his family.

Here, in these photos from 1971 and 2011, are Tony and I. Tony found the first photo in his box of memorabilia and it prompted the second photo of us together holding that photo.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Thank you, Tony.
