What is there to say about the Salton Sea, Bombay Beach, East Jesus and Salvation Mountain? No matter where you turn there is something odd and eerie.
Take a look for yourself. Just maybe we’ll run into each other on the next trip out there. You won’t want to miss this place.

The Salton Sea
The Ocean
Because it has been so “warm” lately, I am especially thankful for the ocean, its gentle cooling breeze and the smell of salt water…
A nice sunset doesn’t hurt either.
Belmont Park
I was recently out and about at Belmont Park in the Mission Beach area of San Diego where I noticed there have been a lot of changes and upgrades. These photos were the centerpiece for a business story highlighting the new developments at the park, the most notable of which are the debut of the upper level restaurant, Cannonball and a glass elevator that took months and months to complete.
False Point Tide Pools, La Jolla
We should all be good stewards of our environment. I really admire people who make an effort to learn about their environment and who love to explore and discover the diversity of San Diego County.
On a recent afternoon, I headed out to photograph a “tide pool adventure” with the naturalists of the Birch Aquarium who were hosting their outdoor classroom at the False Point Tide Pools in La Jolla.
Winter is the best time of the year for tide pooling because low tides are generally earlier in the day, allowing enthusiasts ample light to discover local coastal sea life. Participants and photographers enjoyed warm temperatures and a shoreline bathed in beautiful late afternoon light.
Scripps Pier Moonlight Walk
The Scripps Institution of Oceanography invites San Diegans to attend the Moonlight Pier Walks which take place on the pier during the summer months. The walk allowed attendees a tour of the Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier, which is usually closed to the public. The pier is used by scientists, students and aquarium staff for a variety of research projects. It also serves as a platform to collect local marine life and deploy small boats and oceanographic instruments.
Doggie Joggie
I recently photographed Jenna, a dog sitter/dog runner, who contracts with Doggie Joggie as she ran with Jimmie near Fanuel Park in Pacific Beach. Doggie Joggie is San Diego’s premiere service for daily dog exercise & pet care. They provide everything your pet needs while you’re away, including dog walking or running while you’re at work, to overnight pet sitting, or daily cat check-ins while you’re on vacation. They do it all. Give them a call today!
Brazilian Carnaval at the Bahia
Ali McNeil and her Brazilian dancing and musician friends of Sol E Mar take the stage on Thursday nights this summer at the Bahia Resort Hotel on Mission Bay. Great food and great entertainment!
Surf Dog Competition, Imperial Beach
Who knew dogs could surf! The 2013 Loews Surf Dog Competition got off to a roaring start on Saturday June 22, 2013. The waves were rougher than usual, but our fine four legged-friends didn’t let that deter them from riding the waves.
Coasting on Hwy 1
I have come to realize just how beautiful the state of California truly is. Driving up the coast to Pt. Reyes and exploring the Big Sur area was a delightful and beautiful experience.
My two favorite places were Pfeiffer State Park and Lime Kiln State Park, both in the Big Sur Region. Here are some of the images I captured.
